Smart Monkey wins at the UK Digital Growth Awards

Sussex-based Smart Monkey, the independent B2B digital marketing agency that focuses on demand generation, scooped another award to add to its growing collection last night, at the UK Digital Growth Awards.

Triumphing in the B2B SEO Campaign of the Year category for their work with Perrys Accountants, an accountancy firm based in the south, the team is celebrating this prestigious award – the latest in a long line of nods for the agency over the last 12 months. Having scooped awards at the European Content Awards, the Digital Excellence Awards, and the UK Agency Awards, among others, in the previous 9 months alone, the team is going from strength to strength.

Speaking about the win, Beth Nash, Smart Monkey founder, said, “Celebrating and rewarding the best work in the industry, these awards are not only recognition amongst our peers, but they’re also an incredible boost to the team, who work day in, day out, delivering amazing results for our clients.

“At Smart Monkey, we pride ourselves on being clear, transparent, and approachable when it comes to our clients. Working primarily with medium-sized businesses where marketing spend is often more tightly monitored, we use our experience to focus on the things that make the biggest difference to them, driving results and showcasing ROI, which, let’s face it, is what everyone is interested in.”

The agency, which has been established for almost two decades, recently completed a rebrand, with a brand new identity and website. Showcasing their expertise across technical SEO, content marketing, digital PR, and PPC, the Smart Monkey team worked with local artist, Mr Phil, to commission bespoke illustrations that are used across the website and marketing materials.

The UK Digital Growth Awards is part of the Don’t Panic Awards series, renowned for celebrating and honouring outstanding businesses across the industry, with some of the biggest names in marketing shortlisted.

The winners were announced last night (Thursday 20th June 2024), at a glitzy awards ceremony at the Montcalm Marble Arch in London.

The judges commended Smart Monkey’s robust objectives and impressive results against a tight budget. They also noted that “the emphasis placed on understanding the customer yielded significant dividends, as evidenced by the supporting data.”

Beth, added, “It was wonderful to celebrate our success amongst our industry peers. While we get incredible feedback from our clients, getting that positive external feedback from those in the industry shows that even though we’re a small agency, we’re generating big results.”

Smart Monkey’s client-first approach and its ability to adapt to client briefs while offering data-backed recommendations has garnered the team a growing list of satisfied clients – many of whom have long-lasting relationships with the agency. From local startups to established national and international brands, Smart Monkey’s expertise has helped businesses achieve higher visibility, increased website traffic, and improved online ROI.

FAQs

Good agencies take the business of establishing and upholding their reputation very seriously. To do so they need to perform at a high level for all of their clients. Look for evidence of the results achieved and never be afraid of asking to speak to existing clients. Also, look for professional accreditation from digital platforms and professional bodies, as well as testimonials. See what Smart Monkey clients have to say about working with us.

We create Google Data Studio SEO reports for our clients which include the key reporting metrics we analyse. We can also adapt our reports to cover any other metrics that are important to you and your stakeholders. We use Google Data Studio because it gives up to the minute results and real-time data. Our core SEO metric is the increase (or decrease) in organic traffic – growing organic traffic shows our efforts are working. The key conversion metrics we report on are enquiries or leads, or orders for our ecommerce clients. We will also look at page views, time on site and other measures of engagement and traffic quality. We also keep an eye on rankings with the caveat that rankings can fluctuate depending on who is searching.

We break SEO down into three key phases. Firstly technical SEO looks at the foundations of the websites and makes sure that the website is working efficiently and it is easy for Google to find the information on the site. Secondly developing great content that appeals to your target audience. Thirdly building your site authority by working on various tactics such as on-site and off-site brand awareness, credibility and quality link building.

For certain aspects of digital marketing such as PPC and paid social advertising, results can be pretty much immediate. As soon as a campaign goes live, you are able to see traffic from ads to your website, and to track conversions. You can also measure phone enquiries over the period of the campaign. Campaign reports can give you a clear view of how profitable the campaign was. SEO and other types of digital marketing deliver results in a longer time span, ranging from from six months to two years. That’s because of the time it takes for search engines to recognise the improvements in the content and authority of your website. It is important to understand that developing a longer-term relationship is the key to getting the full benefits of working with a digital marketing agency. That makes choosing the right agency even more critical.

It depends on a number of factors as to how long it will take to get to the top of Google such as how competitive the keywords are you want to rank for, how good your content is, whether you have a strong backlink profile and domain authority, and many other reasons from Google’s 200+ ranking factors.
