The client
HashtagClean specialises in end of tenancy cleaning and office cleaning in the West Sussex area.
The challenge
Following our initial presentation to HashtagClean, the client decided to go with a more cost-effective freelancer who had pitched at the same time. Later in the year, HashtagClean got back in touch with us as they had received little success so we set to work.
Over the course of the 11 months we worked with the client, we helped them launch a new website and to gain top position rankings for their key search terms in their key locations.
Our objectives
We set out to achieve the following for HashtagClean:
Increase visibility for searchers looking for end of tenancy and commercial cleaning services in a number of local areas the company operates in
Support a website redesign and development project from the client’s existing CMS to WordPress
Increase keyword rankings and improve organic visibility against competitors
What we did
In addition to supporting a website redesign, we identified a number of commercial-intent keywords that the current site had little to no visibility for. Hashtag Clean were in the unique position of being able to service clients in and around a large geographical area in the South East region of the UK. This allowed us to target keywords with local intent in these different regions.
We worked through the following actions to help us achieve our objectives for the site:
- Extensive keyword research and URL mapping
- Meta optimisation throughout the website
- Improvement and optimisation of existing content for quick wins on improved rankings
- Support the website restructure and redesign with an improved taxonomy, page structure layouts and improved messaging across the site
- Pre and post migration checklists to ensure a smooth migration
- Content audit and identification of content gaps
- SEO strategy
- Built out and optimised location landing pages
- Structured data audit and implementation to increase visibility for reviews and FAQs in the results pages
- Reviewed internal linking to ensure all pages were being crawled frequently and authority was able to pass easily from high-ranking pages to those deeper within the site
- Optimised local Google Business Profile to ensure correct category optimisation, relevant information and general on-going optimisation tasks to increase user engagement with local listings
